PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a hot dip thick Zn-AI base alloy coated steel sheet having >=150 g/m2 coated quantity on the one side surface, which contains 2-7 mass% Al for suppressing the development of flaw easily developed at a working time. SOLUTION: This hot dip Zn-5% Al base alloy coated steel sheet has 0.3-3.0μm arithmetic average roughness Ra on the surface of a coated layer and a PP1 value below that in the equitation: 100×Ra-100×Ra+100 PPI wherein PPI is per 25.4μm a peak number having >=0.635μm height from an average line of the roughness Ra having the length of about 25.4 mm.
