PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annealing method of copper or a copper alloy, by which an excellent discoloring resistance can be given to the annealed material in all copper products, in a producing process of the copper product without using a chemical material for preventing the discoloration, and also, without needing a dehumidifier chamber or an air-conditioning equipment each necessitating a large capacity. SOLUTION: In the annealing method of copper or copper alloy, in which the material to be annealed as a copper product composed of the copper or the copper alloy and having a prescribed shape is annealed, a copper tube 1 with grooves on the inner surface as an annealed material just after annealing and discharged from an annealing furnace 3 in an annealing line, is coolred to a warm state or a room temperature state through a cooling chamber 4. Thereafter, the outer surface of the copper tube 1 with grooves on the inner surface is abraded thorough an emery paper 5 and a rubber-made jig 6. Thus, an outer layer 2 having discoloring resistance and composed of a fine copper crystallized grain layer or copper amorphous layer is formed on the outer surface of the copper tube 1 with grooves on the inner surface just after annealing.
