摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope device which makes it possible to obtain an endoscope image to facilitate endoscope inspection by setting the excessively bright segment, etc., at the brightness suitable for observation even if such segment, etc., exist within an observation image. SOLUTION: The light of a light source lamp 21 of a light source device 3 is reflected by an optical modulation device 25 having many micromirror elements two- dimensionally arranged on an optical path of a lens 22, etc., through this lens, etc., and is made incident on a light guide 8 having an image transmission function of an electronic endoscope 2. This light is transmitted and is cast to a subject side so as to spread two-dimensionally. The light is subjected to image pickup by a CCD 35 and the endoscope image is displayed on a monitor 5. The corresponding information of the micromirror elements contributing to the respective illumination areas when the subject is illuminated and the pixels by the CCD 35 is previously stored in a memory of a control circuit 29 and if the excessively bright segment of the subject image exists, this segment is discriminated by a discrimination circuit 44 and the optical modulation device 25 is controlled in driving in such a manner that the reflection light quantity by the micromirror elements contributing to the illumination of this segment is suppressed so that the endoscope image to facilitate the endoscope inspection may be obtained.
