PURPOSE: A method for testing a connection path between a repeating line and a signal equipment in a communication system is provided to test all paths between the repeating line and the signal equipment to be connected when processing calls by adding a repeating line selection function to a signal equipment selection function and selectively designating the connection path between the repeating line and the signal equipment through an operator control. CONSTITUTION: States of a repeating line and a signal equipment designated by an operator are checked(S2). If states of the repeating line and the signal equipment designated by the operator are idle, it is requested to the repeating line designated by the operator for forming a loopback(S3). The loopback is formed to the repeating line(S4). The repeating line in which the loopback is formed is connected with a time switch(S5). The signal equipment designated by the operator is connected with the time switch connected with the repeating line(S6). A signal sound is transmitted to the signal equipment according to a control of a signal equipment control processor(S7). The transmitted signal sound is compared with a signal sound received through a corresponding connection path between the repeating line and the signal equipment for confirming whether the transmitted signal sound is identical to the signal sound received through the corresponding connection path(S8). If the transmitted signal sound is identical to the signal sound received through the corresponding connection path, it is judged that the corresponding connection path is correct and the judged result is outputted(S9). If the transmitted signal sound is not identical to the signal sound received through the corresponding connection path, it is judged that the corresponding connection path is incorrect and the judged result is outputted(S10).
