PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a recording medium to be loaded in a proper state when related information on the recording medium is detected by bringing a detection member into contact with the recording medium near completion of a loading operation. SOLUTION: When a tray 14 on which the recording medium 106 is mounted is near completion of the loading operation, a saving operation part 108 provided at the tray 14 executes an operation of saving the detection member 94 to a position where it does not come into contact with the recording medium 106 by associating with the detection member 94. When the tray 14 reaches a position where the loading operation is completed, the saving operation part 108 sets so that the detection member 94 is in a state capable of coming into contact with the recording medium 106 by associating with the detection member 94. Thereby the detection member 94 moves the recording medium 106 on the tray 14 and prevents the recording medium 106 from being unable to be properly loaded on a player. Consequently the recording medium 106 can be loaded in a proper state and the related information on the recording medium 106 can be properly detected.
