摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode having cycle characteristics equivalent to or better than conventional cycle characteristics with even hydrogen storage alloy powder having reduced cobalt content used for the electrode. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode containing a hydrogen storage alloy containing 0 to 7 wt.% of cobalt and a methyl cellulose is provided. The amount of methyl cellulose is preferably equal to 0.1 to 2.0 wt.% of the hydrogen storage alloy. In addition, a method of manufacturing the hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode is provided. The method includes immersing a conductive support medium in a slurry containing a hydrogen storage alloy and methyl cellulose or charging the slurry into or apply the slurry to the conductive support medium and then drying and rolling the conductive support medium. In addition, a method of manufacturing the hydrogen storage alloy negative electrode is provided. The method includes immersing a porous body formed using a powder having a mixture of a hydrogen storage alloy powder or hydrogen storage alloy powder and a conductive material in a methyl cellulose solution and then drying the porous body formed.
