PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and apparatus which estimate a photographing scene and perform effectively the image processes such as the optimum scale control, the recovery processing and the improvement of picture quality according to the estimated scene and can provide an images of high picture quality, e.g. a print of high picture quality. SOLUTION: The image data on the photographing scene of the object of a camera are acquired and also the camera information obtained or inputted when the object is photographed are acquired. Furthermore, the relative information to the photographing scene is fetched as necessary. Then the photographing scene is estimated from at least the camera information or the relative information or a combination of this information and the image data and a prescribed image process is carried out in accordance with the estimated photographing scene. |
