PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video system for monitoring traffic capable of grasping the display of lighting conditions of a traffic signal. SOLUTION: The video system for monitoring video at an important traffic point while using an image pickup means, has the image pickup means and an optical means for optically transmitting information corresponding to the turning-on color of the signal light of the traffic signal at the important traffic point toward the image pickup direction of the image pickup means.
