PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide activated carbon for an electric dipole layer capacitor having excellent durability, an activated-carbon electrode formed by using the activated carbon, and the electric dipole layer capacitor which has the activated- carbon electrode as a polarizable electrode and in which durability is improved. SOLUTION: The quantity of FS(Filling Swing) in anαS-plot by a nitrogen adsorption method is 27 cm3/gSTP or less in activated carbon for the electric dipole layer capacitor. The activated-carbon electrode is formed by using the activated carbon. The electric dipole layer capacitor has the activated-carbon electrode as the polarizable electrode.
