摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in the selection of the clear and optimum view of a dubious explosive with the curtailing of a calculation load by accomplishing reliable detection even if the explosives are not only objects within a projection path in a method and system for detecting the explosives. SOLUTION: The apparatus and method for detecting explosives use double energy information in X-ray scanning of material. A scanning is performed by an X-ray radiation source which emits radiation alternately at two different energy levels and a detector array collects the radiation after passing through the material. A reconstruction computer generates a CT image from a series of projection corresponding to one of the two energy levels. A space analysis computer analyzes the CT image to determine whether the projection is the one (clear pass projection) containing the object in question or the one containing the object in question together with the minimum number of hetero objects. The quantitative information is used to distinguish the material explosive from that not explosive.</p>
