PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type air-conditioning system capable of improving comfortableness in a room by reducing a heat amount to be discharged into the room after a cooling operation is stopped. SOLUTION: An outdoor heat exchanger 4 of the heat pump type air- conditioning system 1 functions as a condenser, while an indoor heat exchanger 7 functions as an evaporator to conduct a cooling operation. The system 1 stops the cooling operation when an indoor temperature becomes a set temperature or lower. In this case, a motor driven expansion valve 5 is closed only for a predetermined time directly after the stop of the cooling operation.
