<p>The locking and unlocking action of a pivoting arm (14) in a snap hook (10) is controlled by a transverse stop (34) in the form of a peg, which slides in slots in the wings of the stirrup (14) and held in its lock position by a spring (38). It is released by a hand operated release lever (18). The snap hook (10) consists of an arm (14) in the form of a U' shaped stirrup equipped with two parallel wings (14A,14B). Each one contains a slot (32A,32B) having a first part (34A,34B) with a curve centered on the pivot point (26) and extended by a second part (36A,36B) at right angles, which together form the locked and unlocked positions of the arm. A stop (34) extends across the slots (32A,32B) and an oblong orifice (30) in the body (12). This stop is moved towards a locking position by a secondary spring (38) when the release lever is inactive and the arm (14) is in the open position, and moves to an unlocking position following the manual operation of the release lever (18) towards unlocking. The arm (14) snaps into its closed position by the action of the primary spring (28).</p> |
