PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform copying by linking a plurality of copying machines in a simple configuration by using a computer network. SOLUTION: When a computer 120A of a composite system 100A instructs copying in link operation, an image reading part 111 of a copying machine 110A reads an image from an original and generates image data. The image data are written to a hard disk 122 of the computer 120A. The computer 120A issues a printing job to the copying machine 110A of its own machine through a bus 130 and also issues the printing job to the coping machine 110B to 110N of other composite systems 100B to 100N through a network 120. The respective copying machines 110 link with one another to perform copying.
