PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectually dry an article to be dried with a simple drying apparatus a screw conveyor barred assembled at a plurality of stages into a housing equipped with a dehumidifier. SOLUTION: A drying apparatus equipped with a screw conveyor is adapted such that there is provided an assembly with barrels 55 to 58 assembled into a plurality of stages each of which barrels is equipped with screw conveyors 51 to 54 each rotated in a groove having a U-shaped cross section in a housing 50 into which and out of which a worker can go and which housing can be closed, and further which housing includes a dehumidifier 64 provided therein to keep the inside of a room at low humidity. There is further provided a hopper 59 into which an article to be dried is introduced at one end of an uppermost stage barrel, and a passage 60 is provided, through which the article passes from the other end 55b of the uppermost stage barrel to one end 56a of a next stage barrel. There is further provided a passage 61 through which the article passes from the other end 56b of the next stage barrel to one end 57a of the lower stage barrel. There are provided passages in succession as such from the upper stage barrel to a lower stage barrel, and the article falls from the end 58b of the final stage barrel. |
