PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band-efficient chain TCM decoder, constituted by conbining the advantage of a turbo code which is resistant to a fading channel with TCM, having the advantage of band efficiency and to provide the decoding method. SOLUTION: This decoder comprises a basic TCM encoding part 1, an additional TCM encoding part 2 and a switch 3. The basic TCM encoding part 1 is desirably provided with a first recursive encoder 10, m/(m+1)RSC, and a first symbol mapper 14. The additional TCM encoding part 2 is desirably provided with a pair wise interleaver 12, a second recursive encoder 11, m/(m+1) RSC, a second symbol mapper 15 and a pair wise deinterleaver 13. |
