PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X type brace device capable of continuing to bear horizontal force without stopping in a process where a structure repeats shearing deformation by the reciprocal horizontal force. SOLUTION: An X type brace is constituted as a crossing part is furnshed furnished with a preceding plastic deforming body 6 and four brace materials 7, 7, 8, 8 end parts of which are connected to this preceding plastic deforming body 6 are extended in four directions. Additionally, the preceding plastic deforming body 6 is plastically deformed to extend in the inclining direction and to contract in the other inclining direction as the two brace materials 7, 7 existing in the one inclining direction are pulled and is plastically deformed to extend in the inclining direction and to contract in the other one direction as the two brace materials 8, 8 existing in the other one inclining direction are pulled.
