PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying power consumption and power rate of electric home appliances are provided to reduce the power consumption by calculating and displaying the power consumption and a power rate according to usages of electric home appliances. CONSTITUTION: A communication portion(20) downloads power rate information from the outside. A key operation portion(10) is used for selecting an operation command of a user and a power usage. A wattmeter(30) measures power consumption of electric home appliances. A controller(40) calculates the power rate by using the power rate information, the operation command of the user, the power usage, and the power consumption. A display portion(50) displays the power consumption and the power rate.
