PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document design system and a recording medium which eliminate the entry of a wrong document, etc. SOLUTION: An operator inputs a document kind 21 (step 301). Item numbers 15 are inputted in entry order (step 302) and then a personal computer 3 extracts the contents 17 corresponding to the item numbers 15 of the document kind 21 from a database 5. The operator inputs necessary data (step 303), sets a layout frame (step 304), and inputs a point number (character size) and the number of characters per line (step 305). Then layout processing is carried out (step 306).
