<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set which independently functions as a remote controller for plural electric apparatus by acquiring remote control specification data, which is to be the origin of a remote control signal of electric apparatus, with easy operation by a proper data communication means. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 is connected to an i mode center 20 and is connected to a remote control data providing server 21, where remote control specification data of electric apparatus is stored, through this center. Remote control specification data of a desired electric apparatus is acquired from the server 21 and is held in an incorporated non-volatile memory. The operation of a remote control button 6 is received to start a remote control mode, and remote control specification data corresponding to the electric apparatus to be operated by remote control is read out from the memory, and control contents of the electric apparatus and a key panel 8 are made to correspond to each other, and a picture presenting the corresponding relation between the key panel 8 and control contents of the electric apparatus is displayed on a display device 9. The key panel 8 is operated in accordance with the guide of this picture to remotely control the electric apparatus.</p> |
