<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card which can effect self-diagnosis in whatever timing a command is received, after initial answer data are outputted and prevent malfunction. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device, which reads or writes data out of or in a storage part stored with the data and inputs and outputs data from and to an external device selectively, according to a command from the external device outputs the initial answer data after being activated, effects self-diagnosis as to whether it operates normally afterward, interrupts the self- diagnosis and performs only a command receiving process when receiving the command during the self-diagnosis, restarts the interrupted self-diagnosis to perform the remaining self-diagnosis after the command receiving process, and performs a process for the received command, after the remaining self- diagnosis is completed.</p> |
