PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To very efficiently decompose ozone and NOx generated in an electrifying process in an image forming device with an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 containing a material having photocatalytic function (photocatalytic material) in the surface layer and a light source 9 for excitation for allowing the material to exhibit its catalytic function are disposed. The photoreceptor 1 is manufactured, e.g. by forming a photosensitive layer on the surface of a cylindrical substrate made of aluminum and forming a surface layer 1a comprising the photocatalytic material on the photosensitive layer by coating with a coating fluid comprising a polycarbonate resin containing dispersed fine powder of titanium dioxide. When the surface layer of the photoreceptor is irradiated with light from a low pressure mercury lamp as the light source 9, ozone and NOx generated in an electrifying process are efficiently decomposed with titanium dioxide as the photocatalytic material. |
