PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data monitoring method for a programmable controller and system therefor capable of collecting and displaying data on a memory for fixed period from a point of time when a certain condition is established at execution intervals of the programmable controller as it is. SOLUTION: This programmable controller 1 performs a series of processing operations to store the data of a specified memory address in a saving address of the memory for period for the number of executed scans from when the set 'condition' contents is established by executing its program. When the period to be monitored is completed, a fact that the period to be monitored is completed is notified to a program generating device 3, a processing to transfer the monitored data is automatically performed and the data is displayed on a screen of a display device 4 of the program generating device 3.
