PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device for preventing a slide cover from carelessly sliding at the time of replacing a cartridge. SOLUTION: A locking piece 20a is formed on a lifter 20 for discharging a film cartridge 32 from a cartridge chamber 30, and a groove 19c is formed between guide rails 19a and 19b at the inside of the slide cover 5 so as to be engaged with the locking piece 20a. When the cartridge chamber cover 15 is positioned in a closed state, the lifter 20 is moved toward the top face of the camera by an engagement projection 18 integrally molded with the cartridge chamber cover 15, then, the locking piece 20a is not engaged with the groove 19c, then, a sliding operation of the slide cover 5 is allowable. On the other hand, when the cartridge chamber cover 15 is made in an open state, the lifter 20 is moved toward the base of the camera, and then, the locking piece 20a is engaged with the groove 19c, then, the slide cover 5 is locked, and the sliding operation is not allowable.
