PURPOSE: To reduce the wall thickness of ribs in a bonding part in a friction and agitation bonding method for follow shapes. CONSTITUTION: Friction and agitation bonding is applied to the butting part between face plates 12b, 22b of two hollow shapes 10, 20 from the upper side. Next, a connecting stock 30 which connects the upper face plates 12b, 22b is arranged. The connecting stock 30 is connected to face plates 11, 21 by friction and agitation bonding from the upper side in the state that these are supported by a backing seat 210. Since a load in friction and agitation bonding is supported by the backing seat 210, the ribs 13, 24 are thinned and lightened.
