PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress horizontal stripes to be generated when a video signal corresponding to a specific scanning line is thinned in a TFT liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: When the picture signal of scanning lines of one line or more is thinned from picture information to be impressed on plural vertical-direction signal lines, control signals GVE and GOFF of a horizontal-direction driving circuit (gate driver) are corrected. In an (i-1)th scanning line, the impression voltage Vs and the impression period Ta of a horizontal-direction signal line are made to be the same as those in the i-th scanning line which is not to be thinned with respect to the (i+1)th scanning line which is to be thinned. Then, the impression starting time t5 of the corrected voltage is driven so as to be delayed by a horizontal scanning period equivalent to the number of thinning scanning lines with respect to the i-th scanning line.
