The invention concerns an equipment comprising an immersed nozzle (6) with outlets in the main casting plane (P) differentiated by their output direction into at least two categories (7, 8) associated to two mutually opposite inductors (14, 15) on each large surface (22) of the casting ingot mould forming an air gap circumscribed at the nozzle and producing a through magnetic field covering the outlets of at least one category (7), means being provided to adjust the intensity of the field or for moving it so as to be able to modify the distribution among the outlets of the total flow rate of molten metal. In particular, when the method is implemented, it enables to add at all times the fraction of metal flow heading towards the free surface (9) relative to the main surface, oriented towards the base of the ingot mould. The invention is advantageously used for continuous casting of steel slabs. |
