摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission line testing device and method and a network, capable of reducing the loss of a transmission line and improving a transmission distance. SOLUTION: A center node 31 and remote nodes 321, 322, and 323 are connected like a ring through two optical fibers 331 and 332, in this optical transmission line testing device. The center node 31 is constituted of a main signal- transmitting part 52 for transmitting a main signal to the optical fibers, a main signal-receiving part 56 for receiving the main signal from the optical fibers, a test light transmitting part 55 for transmitting test light to the optical fibers, in order to find out the states of the optical fibers between each node, and a test light-receiving 56 for receiving the test light from the optical fibers. Each of remote nodes 321, 322, and 323 is respectively constituted of a light amplifier 34 arranged at the optical fibers, an optical path 58 arranged between the two main signal output terminals of the two optical fibers, and an optical path switch 60 arranged on the optical path.
