PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically improve the utilization factor of the backlight for a liquid crystal display by making separated white light irradiate respective color filter cells with three colors. SOLUTION: In a hologram 5 of a liquid crystal display device condensing respective red, green and blue wavelength components of incident light to mutually adjacent liquid crystal cells, the hologram 5 diffracts the light with angles of diffraction respectively different corresponding to the wavelengths and condenses respective red, green and blue wavelength components of the incident light 3 to the liquid crystal cells positioned corresponding to them. |
