<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor for display prepared by an electrochemical method in which the voltage applied for electrodeposition is low, impurities (factors which inhibit emission of light and decrease the emission efficiency) hardly remain in the phosphor layer and the phosphor layer is easily patterned, and to provide a method of manufacturing the phosphor for display. SOLUTION: 1. The phosphor for display is obtained by dipping a pair of conductive substrates in a liquid medium containing micelles including at least one kind of the structural material for the phosphor layer and applying an electric field to form a phosphor layer for display in a desired part of the substrates. 2. In the method of manufacturing the phosphor for display, a pair of conductive substrates are dipped in a liquid medium containing micelles including at least one kind of the structural material for the phosphor layer, in a liquid medium containing micelles including at least phosphor fine particles and conductive fine particles, in a liquid medium containing phosphor fine particles and micelles including at least conductive fine particles, or in a liquid medium containing conductive fine particles and micelles including at least phosphor fine particles, and an electric field is applied to form the phosphor layer for display in a desired part of the substrates.</p> |
