PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop covering material for a cable juncture which is high in water absorption rate and is simple in handling. SOLUTION: This material is prepared by adding a highly water absorptive resin to a foamed weather resistant rubber base material or resin at 5 to 200 pts.wt. per 100 part rubber base material or resin. Accordingly, the rubber base material or resin is provided with voids by foaming and therefore water rapidly penetrates the inside of the rubber base material or the resin and therefore the highly water absorptive resin eventually acts thereon. Further, the rubber base material or the resin is not in an unvulcanized state and therefore there is an advantage in that the water stop covering material for the cable juncture having the high absorption rate may be obtained with the ease of handling. |
