PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp intended to raise reliability by reducing connecting wires of nonlinear capacitor and resistor within an outer tube and reducing cost by eliminating work of mounting a thydack and a resistor after the outer tube is sealed and evacuated. SOLUTION: A starter (8) on which a semiconductor device, a resistor and a nonlinear capacitor are mounted is integrated in an outer tube (9).
