摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a smooth shift between different modes without a change in driving force by achieving high responsiveness of the driving force to the demand for sudden acceleration, and also achieving drive that optimizes fuel consumption when sudden acceleration is not required. SOLUTION: A driving force control device for automobiles controls engine torque and the gear ratio of a transmission 2 based on the desired driving force and is provided with future acceleration/deceleration intention anticipation means 8 and 25 for anticipating the driver's intention to accelerate or decelerate in the future; and preliminary transmission means 3 and 4 for shifting the gear ratio of the transmission 2 to the L0 side, while keeping the desired driving force unchanged, by selecting an operation line passing closer to the gear ratio L0 when the anticipation means 8 and 25 determine that the driver is very likely to accelerate or decelerate in the near future, than if the means determine that the driver is less likely to accelerate or decelerate.
