PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which realizes cost reduction, can provide an optical scanner capable of enhancing the recycling characteristic, can solve each technical problem, such as the vibration-proof characteristic in accordance with sheet metal-ization, moreover, and can obtain a high-quality image by sheet metal-izing an optical box made of resin used conventionally. SOLUTION: The optical scanner for recording an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier has a condensing lens for condensing a luminous flux emitted from a light source and the light source, the first image-formation system for condensing the luminous flux from the condensing lens linearly near a deflection reflection plane of a deflector, and the second image-formation system which is made to make the uniform scanning of the luminous flux deflected by the deflector on a surface to be scanned, and condenses as a light spot. The optical scanner positions the optical device, a member to hold consists of platy metal and the platy metal composes a boxy main body casing.
