PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip type thermistor which is not broken by thermal stresses at mounting time, can be developed or integrated in an arbitrary direction, has high accuracy, and causes very small quality variation due to the small contact areas between its thermistor body and terminal electrodes. SOLUTION: This chip type thermistor is constituted of a rectangular parallelepiped thermistor body (11), internal electrodes (12A and 12B) arranged in the body (11), terminal sections (13A and 13B) which are formed by partially extending the electrodes (12A and 12B) to the surface of the body (11), and external electrodes (14A and 14B) formed in the sections (13A and 13B) by using a brazing material.
