PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a harness connected to a scanner has to be shielded so as not to be affected by noise while the scanner is required to read image information with high accuracy and also that connection with a ground side has to be insured so that each part subjected to electrification in an image reader is not electrically be isolated in the case the entire chassis is made of resin for weight reduction. SOLUTION: In a configuration in which an image reader 6 is housed in a chassis 21 molded integrally in a box shape and made of resin, a harness 62 is guided in the direction that crosses orthogonally with the moving direction of a scanner 60, inserted between a shield member made of steel metal consisting of a supporting member 28 arranged at the chassis 21 and a ground member 29 connected to a ground side and fixed to the chassis 21 with a common fixing tool 28a, and a member 28 is provided with an engaging projecting part 28b being engaged with an engagement hole provided on the chassis 21.
