PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal serial bus control circuit which can convert signals without redesigning a USB host or USB function. SOLUTION: Since signals on a USB are bidirectional, bidirectional buffers are constituted at both ends of the circuit. An input/output control circuit detects the direction of communication from signals propagated from the USB host to the USB function and determines the communication direction of signals of the bidirectional buffers and a signal converting circuit converts the propagated signals. In the route from the USB function to the USB host, an input/output control circuit and a signal converting circuit are provided as well, so that signals which are sent from the USB host to the USB function or signals sent from the USB function to the USB host can easily be changed on the USB.
