<p>Production of asphalt granules comprises quenching hot asphalt containing bitumen or a bitumen-containing binder and mineral materials in an excess of cold water. An independent claim is also included for a device for the production of asphalt granules comprising a mixing device having an inlet and an outlet for cold water. Preferred Features: The temperature of the asphalt is 100-250, preferably 140-250[deg]C. Quenching is carried out with stirring. The asphalt used is mastic asphalt. The asphalt contains (in wt.%): 20-25 sand, 5-10 bitumen, 40-60 grit and 20-25 filler. The sand has an average grain size of 0.2 mm.</p> |
