This is a slide, roller-bed, magnlev, or fluid lift side transfer platform system for transfer or transport or cargo containers (20) from and to railway cars (22), motor trucks or buses and a dock. The container (20) has transfer arms (38, 39) that extend or lock into corner castings on a side and can be hinged to swing down to position wheels (50) on the arms to track in parallel channels (54, 55) slanted obliquely out away from the car (22) to pull the container (20) out parallel as the train moves to dock the container (20). The car (22) is moved in the opposite direction to receive the container (20). The car (22) can extend a push arm to engage the container (20) or a starter to accelerate the container (20) to train speed at alignment for it to be pushed along the oblique channels (54, 55) parallel into an empty berth on the train.
