A DISTRIBUTED SMART ANTENNA SYSTEM

摘要

The invention relates to a distributive intelligent antenna system which includes an antenna array with N antenna elements, N radio frequency transceivers and cables between them for connection. Firstly, N antenna elements and N radio frequency transceivers should be divided into groups according to cell coverage, then individual group of antenna elements should be distributed to different place within area covered by base station of sam e radio communication system based on coverage requirement, involving differen t buildings or different floors in same building, but all groups should share one baseband digital signal processor, 1 to M antenna elements can be configured in each group of antenna elements. It would develop advantage of intelligent antenna and improve cell coverage while increasing system capability and reducing cost.
