The castor has a fastener plate (1) with a pivoted fork (2) holding a wheel. A rectangular projection (4) is fastened to the underside of the plate symmetrically to the pivot axis. The fork has two leaf-shaped springs (5) pivoted in the fork to hold the projection, and to pivot the fork into an alignment position when the wheel is not under load. In this position, the springs engage on the longitudinal sides of the projection. The spring ends are held in bearings (3) in the fork.
