Monitoring and surveillance cameras are required to survey areas and premises having confusing, non-standard layouts for which purpose the cameras are equipped with a configured rail to enable the position of the camera (1) to be change. The camera has a basic body (2) mounted on the rail, the latter having a uniform cross-section in a longitudinal direction.
