PURPOSE: To provide an information processing system that allows an IRD to read smart file information of a D-VHS, so as to control the D-VHS on the basis of the information. CONSTITUTION: The IRD 2 gives a command of video recording to the D-VHS 5, extracts contents information and attached information from a broadcast signal received by an antenna 1 and provides an output to the D-VHS 5. The D-VHS 5 records the received contents information and attached information, on the basis of the command from the IRD 2. Furthermore, the IRD 2 allows the D-VHS 5 to read the recorded attached information and allows a monitor 3 to display it, selects a program from the displayed attached information and gives a command to reproduce the selected program to the D-VHS 5. The D-VHS 5 reproduces the contents information, on the basis of the reproduction command. |
