Patches containing buprenorphine hydrochloride wherein an pressure-sensitive adhesive layer comprising a drug, a percutaneous absorption promoter and an pressure-sensitive adhesive is formed on one face of a flexible support, characterized in that: (i) the ab ove drug is buprenorphine hydrochloride and/or buprenorphine; (ii) the above percutaneous absorption promoter is a mixture of a polyoxyethylene sorbitan monofatty acid ester having from 6 to 20 oxyethylene units and from 12 to 18 carbon atoms in the fatty acid ester moiety, with at least one member selected from the group consisting of higher fatty acid esters having from 12 to 18 carbon atoms in the fatty acid moiety and being liquid at room temperature, polyhydric alcohols having a molecular weight of from 60 to 180 and being liquid at room temperature, lactic acid and triacetin; and (iii) the pressure-sensitive adhesive is an acrylic pre ssure-sensitive adhesive.
