The invention relates to staphylokinase derivatives having the amino acid sequence as depicted in figure I, in which one or more amino acids in one or more underlined clusters is replaced by another amino acid, thereby destroying the corresponding epitopes, and to a process for preparing said derivatives, which consists in preparing a DNA fragment which comprises the coding sequence of staphylokinase, in preparing a DNA mutant by in situ mutagenesis, cloning the mutated DNA fragment in a suitable vector, transforming and transfecting a host cell corresponding to the vector and culturing the host cell under conditions suitable for expressing the DNA fragment and to a pharmaceutical composition comprising said derivatives for the treatment of arterial thrombosis.
