<p>This engine is provided with two drive shafts carrying rotors provided with lobes and with two smaller shafts carrying rotors provided with lobes for forcing air into the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is provided with an injector which sprays in fuel supplied by a pump, as well as a nozzle which supplies fresh air under difficult starting conditions and a glow plug which ignites the fuel in the chamber. The shafts are supported in bearings on the outer side of the engine housing. Each drive shaft is provided with a gear mounted on the outer side of the engine housing. The gears are of sufficient size to engage with each other and serve to ensure that the shafts rotate at identical speeds. The air intake shafts are provided with similar gears. A toothed wheel is mounted on one drive shaft and on one air intake shaft. These toothed wheels are encircled by a chain which drives the air intake shaft from the drive shaft.</p> |
