Polycarbonate comprising repeating cyclodextrin structural units, which may the same or different, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a method for the production of cyclodextrin-containing polycarbonates by reacting cyclodextrins with crosslinkers under polycondensation conditions; and (b) polymers obtained by this method.
