PURPOSE: A duplex paper vessel is provided to prevent direct transmission of heat from hot substance contained therein by defining an air layer between the outer and the inner paper vessels. CONSTITUTION: A duplex paper vessel has an inner paper vessel(20) with folded pieces(2,3'), an outer paper vessel(10) with a rim-shaped upper projection(1) at the upper periphery and a rim-shaped lower projection(3) for receiving the inner paper vessel(20), and an air layer(4) in a space defined between the outer and inner vessels(10,20). A waved sole is installed at the bottom of the inner vessel(20). When the inner vessel(20) is inserted into the outer vessel(10), the folded pieces(2,3') closely contact with the inner surfaces of the outer vessel(10). The upper folded piece(2) of the inner vessel(20) closes the air layer(4) defined in the space between the outer and inner vessels(10,20). The air layer(4) prevents direct radiation of heat from a hot substance contained in the inner vessel(20), and the lower projection(3) of the outer vessel(10) prevents direct transmission of heat from the hot substance to a floor.
