<p>An ink-jet recorder adapted to suppress an increase in viscosity of the ink by efficiently vibrating a little the surface of the liquid in the nozzle during the time when no ink is ejected while shortening the drive time of the ink-ejection energy generating device. The ink-jet recorder comprises nozzles for ejecting ink, a pressure chamber provided to each nozzle, ink-ejection energy generating means provided to each pressure chamber so as to eject ink from the nozzles onto a recording medium and to effect recording by driving the ink-ejection energy generating means. The ink-jet recorder further comprises small vibration control means for supplying a drive signal for imparting small vibration to the surface of the ink liquid in the nozzles by generating energy the magnitude of which is so small that the ink is not ejected from the nozzles. The drive signal is supplied to the ink-ejection energy generating means during different time zones with respect to two groups into which the nozzles are divided.</p> |
