A synthetic molded pushbutton unit consists of a frame (23) with a bridge piece (24). Each pushbutton (22) is connected by an extended connecting piece (25), which partially wraps round the pushbutton, to either the frame (23) or the bridge piece (24) so as to allow elastic movement of the pushbuttons. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a mobile telephone with a pushbutton unit of this type held in a suitable housing, with switches placed below the buttons; (b) a molding process for such a pushbutton unit with thin connecting pieces (25) using a mold with a slide (8); (c) a mold for this process with a slide (8) that can be driven into the button cavity (6a) and with a larger diameter feed (7) than usual.
