The invention relates to a process for reconditioning railway sleepers and to a putty for applying the same. The process for reconditioning the concrete sleepers (1) consists in clogging the seat bottoms (7) with a powdery earth layer (8), in casting the putty molten at a temperature ranging from 130 degree to 150 degree C and homogenized up to 4/5 of the seat height, in driving the lag screws (9) which have some nuts (10) threaded to a certain position, some spring rings (14) being located underneath the said nuts (10), the spring rings (14) being tightened until the optimal couple is reached after the dowel (12) has hardened. The putty employed for reconditioning the concrete railway sleepers comprises 37 ... 40 % pulverous elementary yellow sulphur, 47...49% washed and dried sand, having a grain size of 0 ...3 mm, 14... 17 % cement and 0.01... 0.02 % industrial paraffin, exhibiting reversibility on heating the lag screws at a temperature ranging from 130 degree ...150 degree C for 10...20 min.
